HeartCount Partners with the Faculty of Organizational Sciences (FON) to Measure Engagement and Collaboration
HeartCount has partnered with the Faculty of Organizational Sciences (FON) to introduce continuous measurement of employee experience, engagement, and collaboration across the faculty.
The initiative is part of FON’s ten-year development strategy (2023–2033), which focuses on improving internal processes, strengthening collaboration, and creating better working conditions for employees.
The collaboration was initiated by Professor Dušan Barać and Dean Marko Mihić.
“This initiative represents an important strategic step for the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, aligned with our long-term development strategy. Our employees are at the core of everything we do, and by understanding their experience and collaboration, we are building a strong foundation for continuous improvement and future growth.”
— Marko Mihić, Dean of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences

Measuring engagement and collaboration across the faculty
The first phase will include around 300 employees across 33 organizational units, including 19 teaching departments and 14 non-teaching units. These include administrative services and research centers focused on scientific and research activities.
The goal is to build a clear, structured understanding of how team members experience work across the faculty and how different teams collaborate in practice.
The system will track:
- Employee satisfaction and engagement
- Collaboration between departments
- Collaboration between administrative services
- Cooperation between academic and administrative teams
A key focus is understanding how communication flows across teams, to encourage more open, transparent, and constructive collaboration among employees and stronger connections between academic and administrative units.
Success after the first year will mean clearly defined challenges, identified opportunities for improvement, and a deeper understanding of the faculty’s core strengths. These findings will serve as a foundation for targeted actions to improve collaboration, employee experience, and overall organizational effectiveness.
Introducing structured evaluation of professors
An important part of the initiative is the introduction of a structured evaluation of professors and teaching quality.
FON plans to implement a system that evaluates professors’ work and academic contribution more consistently and transparently. FON will be one of the first educational institutions in the region to introduce continuous measurement of teaching experience as part of a broader organizational feedback system.
“This project reflects our commitment to continuous innovation and to building strong connections between academia and industry. Through collaboration with partners like HeartCount, we are introducing modern, data-driven approaches that will help us better understand our organization and continuously improve the way we work and collaborate.”
— Professor Dušan Barać
The goal is to support ongoing improvements in teaching and to better understand how professors experience academic work within the institution.

Expanding the system to students
Students are a top priority in the long-term plan.
The system will expand to include around 7,000 students in a later phase, potentially during the 2026/27 academic year, after the successful rollout and validation of the employee-focused phase.
The goal is to build on a proven internal model before extending it to the student experience.
Students will be able to:
- Evaluate teaching and professors
- Share feedback about faculty services
- Describe their overall study experience
- Take part in initiatives that help improve the faculty
Feedback will cover key areas, including teaching quality, interaction with professors, academic workload, and the support students receive throughout their studies. The structure of feedback will be designed to yield clear, actionable insights.
The platform is also expected to further help faculty understand student development, especially through project-based work, which is a central part of the FON experience.
Supporting long-term development through data
The first phase of the initiative began with the first survey launched on March 20 and will run until June 26. During this period, the faculty will establish baseline insights and build a clearer picture of employee experience and internal collaboration.
The initiative marks a shift from occasional feedback to a continuous, structured approach to understanding how the organization works in practice.
Instead of relying on assumptions, the faculty will have ongoing visibility into how people collaborate, where friction exists, and where improvement is needed.
These insights will guide concrete actions to improve collaboration, strengthen internal processes, and support the institution’s long-term development.
The initiative also reflects a growing connection between academia and the local technology ecosystem, with HeartCount as a solution developed in Serbia.
